NBCSP alternative access to bowel kits
31 October 2022 – Healthcare providers can now bulk order and issue bowel screening kits directly to their eligible patients through the alternative access to kits model. This is in addition to the existing mail out model.
NCSP self-collection eligibility expansion
1 July 2022 – All National Cervical Screening Program (NCSP) participants now have the choice to screen using either a self-collected vaginal sample or a clinician collected sample from the cervix, accessed through a healthcare provider in both cases.
Important changes to the NCSP Clinical Guidelines pathway for women at intermediate risk
1 February 2020 – Changes to the Guidelines for the clinical management of women at Intermediate Risk of cervical cancer were introduced 1 February 2021. This follows the Cancer Council Australia Clinical Guidelines working party review of national data from the first two years of the renewed program.
